The Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program

The Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program empowers children and adults who experience difficulties with reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, language, math, and attention focus. During the Davis Program®, the client gains a new understanding of their personal thinking and perceptual process. The client learns self-help methods for controlling perception, as well as skills for eliminating confusion regarding language symbols through Symbol Mastery. Symbol Mastery uses the client’s creative ability to create three-dimensional clay models.

By using Symbol Mastery, the client eliminates confusion/disorientation regarding any words, letters, numbers, or other language symbols. Confusion/disorientation can be omissions, additions, or alterations in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, language, and math.

Counseling is done on a one-to-one basis generally scheduled over five consecutive days or a Monday-Friday. The Davis Program® is designed to fit the individual needs of a particular client. Dyslexia Mentor provides and schedules Davis Reading and Davis Math Programs separately. Generally the Davis Program® will include all or most of the following:

• Interview and assessments to determine strengths and set Program Goals
• Training in self-help techniques for controlling perception and turning off disorientation
• Mastery of confusing letters, symbols, numbers, and reference skills
• Balance and coordination improvement
• Self-awareness tools for reducing stress, and controlling energy levels
• Reading and/or math enhancement
• Spelling and handwriting improvement
• Time management skills
• Speech and hearing skills
• Training in how to use creativity as a learning tool to overcome individual academic weaknesses
• Support training for a family member, tutor, or teacher
• Six hours post review
• Ages 7 through 70 have been helped

Professional services described as Davis®, Davis Dyslexia Correction®, Davis Symbol Mastery®, Davis Orientation Counseling®, Davis Math MasterySM and Davis Learning Strategies® may only be provided by persons who are employed by a licensed Davis Specialist, or who are trained and licensed as Davis Facilitators by Davis Dyslexia Association International.
