Assessment, Support Training, Program Follow-Up,
and Tutoring
Assessment
A perceptual ability assessment test may be given to a perspective
client to determine if the Davis Dyslexia Correction®
Program is appropriate for the client. This is done in conjunction
with other assessments, usually taking an hour to an hour
and a half. There is a fee for this service.
Support Training
Parents of children will need to be present
on Monday or the first day of the Program for registration
and initial interviews. Parents, a spouse, or a friend acting
as the Support Person/s for the client will need to attend
support training and follow-up recommendations on the final
day. In support training, instructions are given on how to
help the client continue to use the Davis method in all aspects
of the client’s life; it is not limited to a school
setting.
Program Follow-Up
An additional six hours of post review is
included in the cost of the Program, and is in addition to
the Program hours. The hours are usually split into two half
days of three hours each. The post review hours may be scheduled
for 3, 6, or 12 months following the Program. The Program
is a new start, not a final solution. Positive change and
improvement in basic skills are expected during the Program,
but additional Symbol Mastery will need to be completed by
the client.
Tutoring
Tutoring in Symbol Mastery is available for
clients who have successfully completed the Davis Dyslexia
Correction® Program and Program Follow Up. Tutoring sessions
are scheduled in two or three hour blocks of time.
